About the Sherline CNC NexGen Benchtop Mill

Our CNC benchtop mill is perfect for the customer looking for a mini CNC milling machine to make small, precision parts. The NexGen milling machine offers three directions of travel, and there are four additional directions that the headstock spindle can be positioned to do drilling or milling on your part from virtually any angle.

All our CNC milling machines are made in the USA, and our customer service is second to none. Although our machines are small, they can produce high-quality precision parts. Our CNC mill will not only cut wood and plastic but is also rigid and accurate enough to cut aluminum and steel parts. This mill is a desktop-size machine with full-size machine precision and accuracy.

Notes on ordering a metric mill

Most of our cutting tools, like center drills, are manufactured in a fractional size. If you have a metric machine with metric holders, like collets or end mill holders, you will need to order fractional holders to accommodate our cutting tools.

We offer two types of 3D object files: .igs and .stp.
  1. To view .igs files you need an IGS viewer. CLICK HERE to download a FREE IGS viewer.
  2. To view .stp files you need an STP viewer. CLICK HERE to use Autodesk’s FREE A360* online file viewer. STP is a file extension for a 3-D graphic file used by CAD software. STP stands for STandard for the Exchange of Product model data. STP files are used to store 3D image data in an ASCII format, following the standards defined in ISO 10303-21: Clear Text Encoding of the Exchange Structure.
  3. Each 3D file format has been compressed into a single .rar file to save file space. Click on the .rar file link(s) below to download it to your computer.
  4. Extract the .rar file to the drive location of your choice.
  5. If your system cannot decompress RAR files, CLICK HERE to download WinRAR software.
  6. Open the .igs file using the IGS Viewer, or open the .stp file using the A360 Autodesk online viewer.

*NOTE: There are also other free STP viewers that can be downloaded directly to your computer.
