
The first photo shows the 10-32 handles that can be purchased quite inexpensively. The second photo shows them in place on the lathe tool posts and tailstock. (Click on any image for a larger photo.)
I greatly sped up my use of my lathe by replacing the stock
socket head cap screws on the tool holder with "plastic adjustable clamping
levers." You don't waste time grabbing the hex wrench to adjust the tool
position or to change from one tool holder to another. After you tighten the
handle, you can lift and rotate the handle so it is out of the way. I've
attached some photos of the handles in use.
The handles are available from MSC* threaded 10-32 in the following lengths:

They cost about $3.75 each and are well worth the investment.
