Join a Local Club and Share the Fun
YOU ARE NOT ALONE! There are many people out there who share your interests, and they have formed clubs so that they can get together to share knowledge, learn new techniques and have access to specialized tools and techniques of other members. Below is a growing list of clubs. If you have a club that is not listed here, please contact Sherline and let us know. We will be glad to list your club too as long as it is appropriate for this website. Please restrict submissions to clubs that are made up of builders, not just collectors. This includes both full-size and miniature machining and model making including steam/gas engines, ships, cars, trains. Clubs for clockmakers, pen makers and other specialized miniature crafts would also be appropriate. Email us at marketing@sherline.com with your club information and contact numbers. We welcome submissions from countries outside the USA as well.
At the North American Model Engineering Society Expo every April in Detroit, model engineers from around the world get together to show off their work and examine the work of others. Shows like these help spur competition among members, continually raising the bar for quality. They also offer seminars and plenty of chances to ask members how something was done in order to raise your own level of knowledge and craftsmanship. Clubs like NAMES often put on their own shows or travel as a group to other shows.
