This tailstock live center has a 3/8-24 adapter to hold a drill chuck. This live center is used in industrial winding operations and has a runout of .003″ or less.
The straight shank is so you can hold this tailstock tool in a 3/8” collet (instead of having a Morse taper to fit in our headstock or tailstock spindle).
