Important Update Regarding Sherline Products
October 20, 2026
We would like to share an encouraging development regarding the future of Sherline Products.
We are currently in discussions with an American manufacturer regarding the potential purchase of Sherline’s intellectual property and remaining inventory. The goal of this proposed acquisition is to preserve and revitalize the Sherline brand while providing continued availability of replacement parts, accessories, and machines for our valued customers.
As these discussions progress, we have agreed to temporarily suspend accepting new orders, effective October 19, 2026. This will allow us to preserve our remaining inventory while negotiations are underway.
Although no final agreement has been reached, we are hopeful that this opportunity will provide a positive path forward for the Sherline name and the customers who have trusted our products for more than five decades.
We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued loyalty during this transition. We will share additional information as soon as it becomes available.
Our greatest hope is that the Sherline legacy of quality, precision, and American craftsmanship will continue for generations to come.

Product Description

Handwheels with 11″ Leadscrew, Thrust, and Nut

Don’t reinvent the wheel! If you need to move a small slide or object a controlled distance, these parts offer a convenient and economical way to do it with off-the-shelf parts. Sherline handwheels can be purchased as a set with a leadscrew of the appropriate thread, a thrust collar, and a brass nut. The replaceable nut can be secured in a predrilled hole in the part to be moved using a set screw. (In place of the nut, the leadscrew could be simply inserted into a hole drilled and tapped with the appropriate thread in the part to be moved, although using the brass nut means the least expensive part is the one that is replaced when worn out.) The collar is attached to the fixed portion of your design with a single screw (provided). Also included is a backlash nut and a lock to secure it, which allows backlash to be controlled on the leadscrew if desired. The leadscrew is over 11″ long and is available in inch (1/4-20) or metric (6.3 x 1 mm) thread pitches and matching handwheel graduations. One rotation of the handwheel drives an inch leadscrew .050″ while a metric leadscrew moves 1 mm. Inch handwheels have 50 graduations representing .001″, and metric handwheels have 100 graduations representing .01 mm.
